Title Developer Year Genre Description Compiled Demo Score Size (KB) Download Extra Download Screenshot
Rapidman 2 Psicotiq 1998 Action A space ship battle game with gravity. While featuring excellent graphic, excellent explosion effects and Sound Blaster sound effects this game failed to be more complete. It lacks any sort of menu, options and similar. Rapidman 2 has no progress and you can't win it(as far as I know). You can only earn kills by destroying enemy ships and exit from it when had enough. The game also features different weapons and powerups and a water pool in the bottom of the arena map. It all looks very cool and very well designed but that's simply not enough. Yes No 5 363 R\rapidman2.zip   Available
Red Baron 2573 Adam Stanchos 1998 Action A poor space shooter. This is one of those QBasic game that simply got outdated. It might have been something special when it was released(in QBasic world) but today no. The biggest problem of Red Baron is it's keyboard handler(INKEY$) which makes controlling the ship very difficult and frustrating. Also, the game is jerky, tends to stop during explosions and makes the battle with enemy ships very annoying. On the other hand, it does feature nice menu, instructions and illustrated story and ending. Yes No 3 55 R\redbaron2573.zip   Available
Regatta II Daniel Hampf 1999 Action While not being a well coded game Regatta II is a strangely fun and addictive sailing simulation. The graphic is very simple and slightly flickers on some places but the gameplay is great. Very uncommon theme in computer games. The package also includes a level editor(in source code). The game is on German but you can manage without it(I've also wrote a nice help file in English). Yes No 4 56 R\regatta2.zip   Available
Renegade Force Ivan Matyunin 1998 Action An average space shooter featuring ok graphic and MIDI background music. The gameplay is so-so but what helps a lot is the large number of available difficulty levels. The game allows for two players to play simultaneously which is not often see in QBasic space shooters(if at all). What ruins the gameplay a lot are strange periods of time in levels when no enemies appear(can last up to 30 seconds). Yes No 5 173 R\renegadef.zip   Available
Reversi ChimBanZee 2001 Puzzle Another computer version of the famous board game called Reversi(also known as Othello). While not offering much in the graphic department and sound(no sound at all) this is a well executed Reversi game with a good AI and an option that allows you to change the board size. Yes No 4 36 R\reversi.zip   Available
Rewex 3 Vukelic Sasa 1999 Action A poor pong game in hi-res graphic but offers only a simple duel mode against CPU or human opponent. The gameplay is very poor. There is one nice graphic effect in the game(ball trace). Yes No 2 130 R\rewex3.zip
Riders Of Rohan - Middle Earth Tale II. Jocke The Beast 2001 RPG Average RPG featuring tile by tile movement and not such a perfect game engine(flicker) but relatively large world and many characters. Average graphic. Quite difficult game. Yes No 5 255 R\ridersofrohan.zip   Available
Rigor Mortis 2 Aedes 1996 Action A weird pong game featuring multiple characters, weapons and spells. It also features a nice and funny story intro. Sadly the gameplay is not so good. The paddle movement is annoyingly slow and jerky and beating the opponent a drag. Arena design is also something doubtful. Tournament(CPU opponent) and two players duel mode are featured. No No 4 91 R\rigormortis2.zip   Available
Ring Of Everdown, The Joel Oakley & Will Shirley 1998 RPG A very nice side view RPG with real time battles. Contains one chapter(not a complete game). Runs too fast on modern PCs. No Yes 5 257 R\RingOfEverdown.zip   Available
Rings Philipp Lenssen (Jester) 1998 Action Simple but very interesting and unique action game where you need to get three or more fields of the same color in a row by placing the approaching circles in the slots on your ring. Very challenging. Yes No 4 43 R\rings.zip   Available
Road Blocks Miff Luder 1998 Puzzle Average puzzle game but poor in content. The concept of Road Blocks is very similar to the one in The Power. In Road Blocks you need to guide your ball to the exit but the ball can only slide from one wall to another. 18 challenging levels featuring different graphic. No No 4 12 R\roadblocks.zip   Available
Road Burners TF Software 1997 Driving Top down view, car driving game. Very similar to Arcade Rally but with better graphic and slightly better gameplay. Still, the game gets boring very fast. You only race in one direction and on one track(same graphic). No progress. The game features a two players option. If you have problems running the executable file run the batch file instead. Yes No 3 266 R\roadburners.zip   Available
Robo Raider x.t.r.GRAPHICS 2004 Action Awfully boring game where you control robots and execute various mission with them. Top down view. Good story, terrible gameplay(boring above all). Poor graphic. No No 3 38 R\roboraider.zip   Available
Robot Attack 2 Jack Thomson 1997 Action Despite the simple graphic and the fact that Robot Attack 2 doesn't feature any external files but the source code this is a relatively addictive and challenging action game. Your goal in this game is to get the crystal inside the level and then exit from it. 10 levels, cute ending cinematic and nice controls. Well coded game. No No 4 14 R\robotattack2.zip   Available
Robot Plague Philipp Lenssen (Jester) 1997 Action Robot Plague is a top down action game with two players, split screen mode available. Tile by tile movement. The game features a large world map and your goal is to destroy all the robots gone berserk in the technology center. Interesting graphic style and Sound Blaster sound effects. Quite difficult game and it remains the question if it’s possible to finish it. Still, the game is worth being checked. Yes No 5 147 R\robotplague.zip   Available
Robot Robbery ver.0.99 KeiProductions 2003 Platform A very nice platform game featuring very good graphic and a very amusing story. The scrolling is tile by tile but this doesn't ruin the gameplay. The game is sadly very short(three levels) and it features PC Speaker sound effects/music(yuck) but the graphical design, the story intro, the humor, …all this is very good if not excellent. The package includes a level editor. No No 6 359 R\RobotRobberyV099.zip   Available
Robot Rumble Demo Quantum 2003 Action Robot battle game. While the graphic and the overall design is very nice the gameplay is very poor. Robots can only move in vertical or horizontal direction. The battle is based on ramming into the enemy and kicking him with your weapon. With computer opponent all you need to do is to lure him in the pit which is very easy. The game also features Sound Blaster sound effects and music. This is one of those games that just looks good while it really isn't good. This version of Robot Rumble seems like a finished game so I don’t know why the designer calls it a demo. Still, I’ll respect his decision. Yes Yes 4 346 R\robotrumble.zip   Available
Rocketeer Master Minds Software 2001 Platform Average plaftorm game. The controls and the game engine is ok but the graphic is rather poor(scary lack of colors). Includes a level editor. Yes No 4 185 R\rocketeer.zip   Available
Rockwars 2000 Matthew River Knight 2000 Puzzle A game similar to Scorched Earth. Actually, Rockwars 2000 is a remake of the original Rockwars(also a QBasic game) and the package also includes that original game. A simple mini game where you need to destroy the opponent castle by shooting projectiles at it(you set the angle and speed of the projectile). Also, the castle constantly sends a tank at you so you need to destroy the tank too before it reaches your castle. Have in mind that this is a mini game. Ok graphic. No No 4 26 R\rockwars2000.zip   Available
Santa Sleigh 0000 Strategy Scorched Earth clone. Santa looks like QB Gorillas with remade graphic. The game is multiplayer only. Ok controls and terrain generator but the game is too poor in content to get a higher score. There are many other QBasic games with the same concept that offer much more. No No 3 4 S\Santa.zip   Available
SB's Bricks SonicBlue Productions 1995 Puzzle A nice Tetris game. This one seems to have the best graphic compared with the other Qbasic Tetris games but does not feature sound effects. Background MIDI music is supported but it's quite poor. SB’s Bricks also features some interesting options like funky and special pieces. Yes No 6 532 S\SBBricks.zip   Available
Schiffe Deluxe 2.0 Storm-Master 2002 Puzzle A puzzle game where you target sectors on the map in order to hit the opponent ships. Not sure what's the proper name of the original board game. Battleship? Anyway, the graphic and the execution is ok but could be much better. The game lacks proper music and sound effects(only PC Speaker sounds) and AI which is a big downside. Download only if you have someone to play it with. No No 4 229 S\SchiffeDeluxe.zip   Available
Secret Of Cooey 2, The DarkDread 1999 RPG A very nice mini-RPG quite similar to Mattress Warrior but not with equally excellent graphic. Still, the gameplay is quite good but a bit repetitive. Very linear game. The Secret Of Cooey 2 only features MIDI background music. No sound effects. Yes No 6 235 S\secretofcooey2.zip   Available
Secret Of Cooey, The DarkDread 1999 RPG First DarkDread's RPG game in QBasic and not so good. The main problem is the poor graphic and poor menu control. Among other things. Only for DarkDread fans. Ok gameplay. Yes No 4 160 S\secretofcooey.zip   Available
Shoot Up ver.2 Nixon 2004 Action A very poor ASCII action game with two players mode only(no CPU opponent available). You and your opponent run around a small map while trying to kill one another. Poor controls and poor concept. Yes No 2 85 S\ShootUpv2.zip   Available
Siege Of Gondor - Middle Earth Tale 1. Jocke The Beast 2000 RPG A below average RPG featuring tile by tile movement and not very good game engine(flicker). Average graphic. The Lord Of The Rings world. Yes No 4 242 S\siegeofgondor.zip   Available
Sim City 2002 Igor Uchansky 2002 Strategy Sim City 2002 is a kind of text version of Sim City 2000. All the features are there and the gameplay seems to work. What ruins the gameplay is the stupid delay routine so the game runs too fast on any PC better than a 486. Without some slowdown utility this game is unplayable. Yes No 4 61 S\simcity2002.zip   Available
Simpire Beta Pyrus 1997 Strategy Far from a finished game but Simpire looked quite promising. Still, this demo is not much playable. Very poor menu control. It's in source code so it might be interesting to QBasic programmers. No Yes 3 211 S\Simpire.zip   Available
Skatey Adam B (Qasir Games) 2000 Action A poor skating game with annoying controls(slow response) and sloppy design in general. Poor graphic. The download is so big because the package includes two very big mp3 files. The sound routines(only background music) are very incompatible with Windows 2000/NT and XP so there is a small chance you will be able to play the game with music on. Yes No 3 4613 S\skatey.zip   Available
Ski Jump Extreme MW Software 2001 Action A below average ski jumping simulation but strangely addictive despite the poor amount of different graphic and simple gameplay(it's all about reflexes). This can be a great game if you can play it against another human opponent since the computer one is not that great(it's still a challenge to beat him). Yes No 4 52 S\skijumpex.zip   Available
Snuff Phat Kids 1998 Action A wierd "fighting" game. Actually, it's chase and run game. Players exchange in chasing and being chased while placing traps and such to sabotage one another. Interesting and playable game but not very flashy. You pick wierd characters to control. Yes No 4 99 S\snuff.zip   Available
Solar Strike XFlare Software 1999 Action Despite the progressive story and decent graphic this is a quite poor space shooter. Mainly because of the poor controls which don't allow you to move and shoot in the same time, have a fluid control of your ship and similar. Also the game does not feature explosion effects what so ever. Still, it's a playable game. No No 3 17 S\SolarStrike.zip   Available
SonicX-treme ver.9 J.B. 2004 Platform Demo of a very nice Sonic platform game. Sadly, it only contains bunch of "run around" levels and level editing tools. Plus the instructions for using them. Let's hope this develops into a real game. Yes Yes 5 1628 S\Sonicxv9.zip   Available
Space Unknown 1999 Action A demo of a space shooter like Asteroids with excellent graphic. Unfortunately it only offers endless flying around and destroying asteroids and space droids.   Yes Yes 4 120 S\space.zip   Available
Space Arena Murat Elic 2003 Action An ok space shooter with somewhat original gameplay(you battle with groups of ships one by one and they are tough to destroy). No Sound Blaster sound or music. Addictive gameplay but poor code(not so great controls, some bugs). Yes No 4 64 S\SpaceArena.zip   Available
Space Commando TopGun Software 1999 Platform Very good platform game with excellent game engine and graphic effects. Like, when you shoot from the gun clips fall on the ground. If you shoot in the wall you make a hole in it. Great game physics. Still, Space Commando lacks diversity, both in gameplay and graphic. The game features background MIDI music. Yes No 6 272 S\SpaceCommando.zip   Available
Space Commando 2 TopGun Software 1999 Platform A very nice platform shooter. Almost equal in quality with it's prequel. Smooth and well coded game engine. The game lacks diversity but it's addictive. Space Commando 2 features Sound Blaster sound effects. Yes No 6 253 S\SpaceCommando2.zip   Available
Space Conflict Jack Thomson 0000 Action Another space ship duel game like Star Control Melee. Space Conflict supports up to 4 ships in one battle and one computer controlled opponent max. Unfortunately this is one of those games coded by an inexperienced programmer(back then) so the keyboard handler is terrible(INKEY$; forget about playing against human opponent) and the delay needs to be set manually(in the code). Nice ship rotation routine. No No 3 5 S\SpaceConflict.zip   Available
Space Conflict 2 Jack Thomson 2000 Action On the first sight Space Conflict 2 looks like an interesting Star Control 2 type of game but this is a rather poorly coded game. There is a lot of flicker and the movement is poorly handled(you can only move in vertical and horizontal direction). Above all, the game features small number of mission and they are poorly designed. Space Conflict 2 was meant to allow easy custom mission design before being a proper game. Below average graphic. No No 2 46 S\SpaceConflict2.zip   Available
Space Duel Jonathan Hopkinson 1999 Strategy Some strange turn-based, space ship duel game. You can play it against computer or human opponent. Before each battle you can modify various ship components from the engine to weapons. The control keys are badly chosen and the gameplay seems doubtful. EGA graphic. I might be wrong with the score but I doubt. If curious check it out. No No 3 10 S\spaceduel.zip   Available
Space Invaders Spiff Productions 1998 Action An ok Space Invaders clone. The menu graphic and some images(game over, etc) are some of the most flashy things I've seen a QBasic game(really something special) while the very game in not much more than average. The in-game graphic and the gameplay is ok. A bit slow-paced for my taste. This game doesn't feature any music or sound effects. Yes No 5 226 S\SpaceInvaders.zip   Available
Space Pow Richard Eric M. Lope 2004 Action Demo of a space shooter engine. It's included in this directory mainly because of the amazing graphic(though it's ripped) and great code. Just for curious. Nothing to play, really. The game project was continued in FreeBASIC. Yes Yes 5 99 S\spacepow.zip   Available
Space Quest TF Software 1998 Action This game has nothing to do with Sierra's Space Quest series. This is a space invaders like game with terribly simple graphic but with gameplay that works. No No 3 8 S\spacequest1.zip   Available
Space Quest 2 TF Software 1998 Action This sequel to Space Quest is not much better than the first part. Equally poor graphic but again with ok gameplay. Space Quest 2 features several levels of difficulty. No No 3 12 S\spacequest2.zip   Available
Space Roo SonicBlue Productions 1999 Action An interesting space ship shooting game without scrolling. You fight on static levels against various alien space ships. Very nice graphic and cool graphic effects. The bad thing is that the game seems to be unfinished. I don't know. Most of the menu options don't work and you can use all the game weapons with unlimited ammo. Still, nothing is said in the documentation so I'm treating this game as complete. Yes No 5 145 S\SpaceRoo.zip   Available
Space War 0.14a Matthew Kiehl 1998 Action Demo of a very nice space shooter. Very nice graphic and explosion effects and two levels with bosses. This demo also features MIDI background music. The game can be played with keyboard or mouse. Worth being downloaded. Yes Yes 5 261 S\SpaceWar.zip   Available
Spaced Noah Daleo 1998 Action Interesting game where you control a space ship. All you do in the game is avoid enemies and their projectiles while the gravity pulls you toward the bottom of the level. You cannot shot. Horizontal scrolling. The graphic is very uneven in quality from very good backgrounds to terrible sprites. Ok gameplay. Levels play on the planets around our solar system and your enemy are humans. The gameplay is ok but the poor sprites ruin the play experience a lot. The game features MIDI background music but the tracks are horrible. You can play the game without music(recommended). Yes No 4 470 S\Spaced.zip   Available
Spinball Eric Carr 1998 Platform A nice platform game with average but interesting graphic. A bit demanding controls but that's part of the gameplay. Weird design. The game features 7 levels and an ending. Only PC Speaker sound effects. Yes No 6 325 S\spinball.zip   Available
Spitwar Hamster Republic Productions 1996 Action A weird fighting game where you battle with computer controled opponents by spitting on them. You can play against human opponents only via IPX LAN connection. The game is quite fun to play. You have six characters to choose and five different arenas but this is a game without progress so it gets boring very fast. Nice graphic. The game features Sound Blaster sound effects. Yes No 6 303 S\Spitwar.zip   Available
Spore Mike Snyder 1993 Adventure Spore combines break-out type of gameplay and IF(text adventure game). A really bizarre combination. Sadly the arcade parts run too fast on modern PCs so you'll need to use some kind of slowdown utility or DOSBox to play the game in proper speed. So to like this game you must like both text adventure games and break-out type of games. The graphic during action parts is EGA and nothing special. The game only features PC Speaker sound effects. Yes No 4 117 S\Spore.zip   Available
Spots BattleCraft99 1999 Puzzle A computer version of a noctorius paper game(developer refers to it as Dots). Two players only game. Very simple graphic. Ok game if you have someone to play it with. A coffee break game. No No 3 14 S\spots.zip   Available
Spy Kaboom Code 2005 Action A poor ASCII action game that would be much better if the game used a better speed routine. In Spy you can set the game speed and speed of the enemy which allows cheating. I want for the computer to control the speed of the enemies not me. The game has a lot of content and options but the mentioned feature ruins it all for me. You might think otherwise. The extra download are the levels for multiplayer mode. Yes No 3 82 S\Spy.zip S\spyaddarena.zip Available
Spy For Hire SBM Productions and El Cheapo studios 2003 Action Interesting game where you need to guide your character through a maze without being detected by the guards. Addictive. 14 levels. Both graphic design and presentaton is not so good. Minimal Sound Blaster sound effects. Yes No 5 207 S\SpyForHire.zip   Available
Squeak Build-4 Exposed Dreams 1999 Platform Demo of a very cool and smooth platform game. Only one level. Only for curious people. No play value. Yes Yes 5 422 S\squeakb4.zip   Available
Squealer TNT Marcus Kasumba (Piptol) 2003 Action Excellent action game similar to Bomberman. You control a pig, pick up bombs and throw them on enemy pigs. Excellent gameplay, fun progressive story, excellent graphic and presentation. Very addictive. Sound Blaster music and sound effects are featured but the sound routines are very incompatible with Windows 2000/NT and XP. You might have problem playing the game with sounds on. Yes No 8 819 S\SquealerTNT.zip   Available
Star  Trek Alex Ford 2001 Action An action maze game with Star Trek theme. The game could have been done with any other graphic. The only connection with Star Trek is the graphic. Goal of each level is to get all the Star Fleet Insignia and reach the exit without getting killed by the Borg cubes. Poor graphic and very little of it(only one tileset). Tile by tile movement. 25 levels. Ok gameplay. No No 3 11 S\startrek.zip   Available
Star Angelic Slugger Demo Adigun Azikiwe Polack 2004 Action Demo of a weird space shooter where you control an angel with a baseball bat. The graphic effects are excellent and the game looks promising but I don't think this was every finished in QBasic. Not much play value. Just for curious. Yes Yes 5 4564 S\StarAngelicSDemo.zip   Available
Star Odds LS Adventures 1997 Adventure One of the few QBasic point and click adventure games. The graphic is CGA(4 colors) which lowers the quality of the game a lot. Also, the game is very short and easy. Still, the humor in the game is quite good. Worth being downloaded especially if you are looking for something short. No No 4 139 S\StarOdds.zip   Available
Star Strike RabidMoth 1999 Action An ok horizontal scrolling space shooter with below average graphic. The game features minimal Sound Blaster sound effects. There are 5 levels and each with it's own boss. The game is a bit repetitive and it runs too fast on modern PC. You will probably need to use some slowdown utility or DOSBox(recommended). The presentation is very poor(no menus, no highscore). Yes No 4 125 S\StarStrike.zip   Available
Star Trek - The Capture Daniel Hampf 1999 Strategy A quite obscure QBasic game placed in the Star Trek world. Despite the poor graphic the game concept is quite potential. Sadly, the game is ruined with awkward controls and many bugs that influence on the plot development a lot. Worth being checked. Yes No 4 326 S\StarTrekCapture.zip   Available
Star Wars Card Game Xcaliber Games 2000 Puzzle Some sort of card game with Star Wars theme. 1024x768 graphic resolution. Ok graphic and nice sound effects. Didn't had time to grasp the gameplay but it seems fun. You can only play it against CPU opponent. Yes No 5 666 S\starwarscard.zip
Star Wolf Beta ver.1.0 TF Gaming 1999 Action A space, action flight game like Wing Commander. The 3D engine is a bit weird and not very impressive but the overall design of the game is very good(especially the battle screen). Hi-res graphic(640*480). Controlling the space craft is very easy and enjoyable and it’s done by mouse. Unfortunately this Beta version is not a complete game(I think the designer doesn’t know what Beta stands for) though it can pass for one. The game features nice Sound Blaster sound effects. This version offers nine missions and many options, like ability to use wingmen during missions. I’m not sure if the final version was ever released. Yes Yes 6 392 S\StarWolf.zip   Available
Star Wrek Sami Kyostila 1998 Action Excellent one on one, space ship shooting game like Star Control Melee. Very nice graphic and presentation. This only a duel game and computer opponent is supported. The game runs a bit too fast on modern PCs. Generally, this is a too fast paced game for my taste. The game also features Sound Blaster sound effects. Yes No 6 350 S\starwrek.zip   Available
StarQuest v.1.1 Jace Masula 2003 Strategy Management/action game in space. Explore the galaxy, gather minerals, visit planets and upgrade your ship with new weapons, armor and similar. Strategy part is very good while the action part of the game is rather poor(mineral gathering) but playable. The graphic is nicely done in some parts(in the action part is not so good). Similar to Elite(in concept). Yes No 5 175 S\StarQuest11.zip   Available
Stick Fighters Brawl 2 Kevin Reems 1998 Action Absolutely amazing 3D wireframe fighting game similar to Mortal Kombat. The animation and particle effects are great. Huge number of features from build your fighter to special moves. Large number of stages. Very good gameplay. The downsides are inability to play against human opponent and minimal Sound Blaster sound effects. Highly recommended! Just have in mind that the graphic is 3D wireframe. No No 8 547 S\StickFightersB2.zip   Available
Suds Skins 1 & 2 Bulma Produktions 2002 Adventure A pornographic adventure game. Sequel to Johnny Abbot II. Features the same gameplay with the same flaws. The game also features very nice graphic and Sound Blaster sound effects and music. You will love it or hate it because of the doubtful gameplay(teasing) and the content. Yes No 7 3749 S\SudsSkins1-2.zip   Available
Sumo Wrestling ver.1.0 Typosoft 1999 Action A sumo wrestling game. The graphic is rather nice. The game has few annoying bugs like user not being able to turn off the music and sound effects. I found the gameplay rather shallow - game is pretty much consisted of holding space and pressing in the direction of the opponent. Yes No 5 364 S\Sumo.zip   Available
Super Bomber Man Nick Gardiner 1998 Action A below average Bomberman clone featuring two players mode only. A duel game. What ruins the gameplay a lot is the terrible keyboard handler(INKEY$) and annoying movement of the characters(the result of the INKEY$ statement restrictions). Ok graphic. No No 3 37 S\superbomberman.zip   Available
Super Bricks ver.2.01 Folker Fritz 2003 Puzzle A game with the identical concept to the one in Black Hole. You goal is to remove all the blocks from the level by walking over them. Hi-res graphic but very boring. 30 levels. No sound or music. Yes No 4 53 S\SuperBricks201.zip   Available
Super Mario QB ver.15 Dark Flare Software 2002 Platform Demo of a nice Super Mario clone. The game engine is a bit flickerish but the graphic is nice. This demo features two levels and Sound Blaster sound effects and music. As far as I know this game was never finished. Yes Yes 5 446 S\SuperMarioQBv15.zip   Available
Super Stack Oren Bartal 2000 Puzzle A great puzzle game with excellent graphic and sound effects. One of the most technically perfect QBasic games. The gameplay is a variation on falling blocks concept. In Super Stack you need to "trap" star blocks between other blocks. Excellent design, many levels and very challenging. Yes No 8 234 S\SuperStack.zip   Available
Swarm Shareware Andrew L. Ayers 1997 Action An ok space shooter similar to Asteroids. You fly around, shoot asteroids and pickup crystals. You also need to stop some aliens to steal the crystals. Ok gameplay and nice graphic. As far as I could notice this version has no progress. You play it for the score. Sadly, this is not the complete version of the game though I doubt that the full is much better. Yes Yes 5 175 S\swarm.zip   Available
Syraphage Demo Build 3 Alphx Software 1998 RPG One of the few walk around RPG demos I've included in the directory. The reason why Syraphage is included is because of the amazing graphic. Something really special. No real play value in this demo. You can only walk around the town and enter few buildings. Yes Yes 5 215 S\SyraphageDemo.zip   Available
Tabu Skarab (Circe Software) 2000 RPG A very poor RPG that features somewhat interesting story and graphical design(quite original). The graphic is very poor and the game is very short. Tabu is playable but barely. Too sad that this designer was not interest to spend more time on one project since he shows potential. In the documentation for this game he wrote that he vowed to release AT LEAST one game EVERY WEEK. Go figure. Yes No 2 88 T\Tabu.zip   Available
Taito's Space Invaders (QBasic Remake) anarky 2005 Action Excellent remake of the original Taito's Space Invaders game. It captures the original so well in all aspects(graphic and sound). A great nostalgia trip. Yes No 6 48 T\taitosinvaders.zip   Available
Tank Wars Gold Edition Demo Antz Entertainment 2002 Strategy A remake of the original Tank Wars featuring much better and hi-res(640*480) graphic. Sadly, this is a demo and most of the game features/options are missing. Until the complete version play the original. Yes Yes 5 282 T\TankWarsGoldDemo.zip   Available
Tank Wars! Antz Entertainment 2000 Strategy Turn based aim and shoot game. One of the better QBasic Scorched Earth clones. It has all that this type of game should have. Ability to play against human and computer opponents(different combinations; up to four players per battle), different AI difficulties, ability to set the wind characteristic, terrain randomizer, different weapons, weapon shop and more. Very well coded and designed game. What it lacks is slightly better graphic, more flashy menus and sound effects and music. Yes No 5 62 T\TankWars.zip   Available
Tentris Folker Fritz 2003 Puzzle A quite boring and uninspired Tetris game but it's plays properly(levels and speeding up) and it has a filled highscore(many other QBasic Tetris games lack this) so there are scores to beat. Yes No 4 48 T\tentris.zip   Available
TerraScape - Breakdown Velocity Pieslice Productions 2003 Action Excellent 3D flight action game featuring brilliant 3D engine and 3D graphic(objects). Very good gameplay and excellent design. You control a fighter craft which can carry different weapons. 9 large missions, each with different enemies, boss and graphic. Cool illustrated story. Excellent Sound Blaster music and sound effects but they will probably not work in Windows 2000/NT and Windows XP. Sorry. One of the best QBasic games ever made. Highly recommended! Only flaw is the poor save game option which puts you in the beginning of each mission and missions can last up to 30 minutes. The extra download is the no sound version and it’s only 2 MB large. Yes No 9 16572 T\terrascape.zip T\terrascape_nosound.zip Available
Terror, The Stars Dev 2002 Action An average vertical scrolling shooter with 9 levels, bosses and progressive story. The graphic is not quite good showing the lack of style and polish. The game also doesn't feature any music or sound effects. Still, the game is quite addictive and you will probably play it until you finish because of the smart progress auto-save feature and good gameplay. Yes No 6 193 T\Terror.zip   Available
Tetris Future Software 1997 Puzzle Like it's sequel Tetris 2.0 this game also features terribly slow paced gameplay. Nice Sound Blaster sound effects and music but this really doesn't help the game to be any less bad. Yes No 4 469 T\tetris.zip   Available
Tetris 2 - The New Blood Christian Dever 1998 Action Terribly amusing Teris clone bringing a new features in the gameplay - killing. While having to fill horizontal lines with blocks you can also kill the walking stooges that fall in the game field by slamming the pieces on them. Their movement is very nicely coded and amusing(like when they stuck in a hole made of your pieces). The blood effects are also cool with blood being spilled of the game field and accumulating on the bottom of the screen. If the blood reaches the game field you get a blood bonus. The game sadly doesn't feature any sound effects or music and it doesn't seem to speed up with time. Pity. Makes the game very easy. No No 4 19 T\tetris2nb.zip   Available
Tetris 2.0 Future Software 1998 Puzzle Yet another QBasic Tetris game this one featuring Sound Blaster sound effects and music but with poor graphical design and terribly slow paced gameplay. Offers two players mode. Yes No 4 434 T\tetris20.zip   Available
Textris Crystal Vision 1998 Puzzle My favorite QBasic Tetris game. Textris features very nice graphical design and solid gameplay. Sadly, what some less quality QBasic Tetris games have that Textris doesn't is Sound Blaster sound effects and/or music. Yes No 5 59 T\textris.zip   Available
TF Checkers TF Software 1998 Puzzle A nice computer version of the Checkers game with isometric playfield, lots of options and nice animation but lacks a proper AI(computer moves randomly). You can also play against another human opponent. Yes No 4 161 T\tfcheckers.zip   Available
TF Tetris TF Software 1998 Puzzle Average Tetris clone featuring Sound Blaster music and sound effect(one). The graphic is mediocre mostly due the poor choice of colors. Ok gameplay. Yes No 5 198 T\tftetris.zip   Available
ThunderBugs 2* Mattsson 1998 Action A weird multiplayer space ship action game. You can only play it against human opponents. Up to 4 players per battle. Poor choice of control keys. The game does feature some cool options, like space ship equipping but the gameplay doesn't look much fun. Below average graphic and very little of it. If you have someone to play it with might be worth checking. Yes No 3 31 T\ThunderBugs2.zip   Available
Toadman Delta Code 2000 Action Two players only game. You control a toad and your goal is to kill the opponent toad. You can choose to play in several levels(mazes). Tile by tile movement. The main problem is that the game is not compiled while it runs too fast on modern PCs. Also, the very game documentation is inside the source code. No No 2 208 T\Toadman.zip   Available
Toadman 2 Delta Code 2000 Action Sequel to Toadman 2. Features slightly better graphic, computer controled opponent and many more features, like being able to use more weapons, traps and such. Still, has all the flaws of the first part in not being user-friendly. Runs too fast on modern PCs and you need to change some variable in the code to choose between playing against human of computer opponent. Very poor AI. No No 3 224 T\Toadman2.zip   Available
Torched Earth Delta Code 2000 Strategy Another Scorched Earth clone and this one is very similar to the original. Set your angle and power and shoot on the opponent tanks on the screen. Turn based game. Quite good but not as Tank Wars. Torched Earth does feature few more interesting weapons but the AI is very poor(computer shoots randomly) and the graphic is slightly poorer than in Tank Wars. Yes No 4 101 T\TorchedEarth.zip   Available
Total Destruction Demo Turbo Fx 2003 Action Demo of an excellent space shooter featuring excellent graphic and brilliant explosion/particle effects. This demo offers two long levels with bosses and a nice amount of play time. No sound effects or music. Highly recommended! Yes Yes 6 203 T\TotalDestruction.zip   Available
Tracer ver.1.0 Jakob Krarup 1998 Action Tron clone. Snakes duel game like Worm Wars. Tracer features both human and computer opponent and very nice graphical design(especaially the menus). Still, the AI is very poor, the in-game graphic boring and there is no any extra features in the game(pickups) like in Worm Wars. Yes No 4 89 T\tracer.zip   Available
Traders, The Daniel Hampf 1999 Strategy Highly addictive text based simulation of ship trading company. Buy ships, set them to trading routes and make money. The options are designed very nicely so controlling the game is very enjoyable. If you are into simulations of this sort and don't care about graphic this is something you'll like. Yes No 4 57 T\Traders.zip   Available
Trapped 2 ver.3.6 Crystal Vision 1999 Action Excellent Tron clone. Snakes duel game. It features huge amount of options, up to 4 players per game(human or computer), special pickups(weapons) and more. Average hi-res(640*480) graphic and poor PC Speaker sound effects. By my opinion, this is the best QBasic game with such concept. Yes No 5 162 T\Trapped2.zip   Available
Trek Brian Watson 1998 Strategy Above average turn-based strategy game with Star Trek theme. The gameplay is quite addictive. In Trek you only control one ship in the fleet and can get promoted or demoted after each mission. The graphic is not much varied and the gameplay could use more features but still, a very fun game to play. Hi-res(640*480) graphic. Sound Blaster sound effects(a lot of speech messages). No music. Yes No 5 325 T\trek.zip   Available
Troopers ver.1.0 Aspect Productions 2002 Action Troopers is a war game where you control a group of soldiers and execute various missions. In this game it’s only “kill all the enemies”. Mouse controlled game. The gameplay is a complete rip-off of Cannon Fodder and the graphic style is the same as in the mentioned game. That wasn't enough for Aspect Productions to credit the authors of Cannon Fodder. Big minus! This version only features 3 stages which is silly. Nice Sound Blaster sound effects. Due the lack of content and missing options this game won't provide you hours of fun. It's just something worth being checked due the excellent graphic. More a demo than a game. Yes No 5 353 T\troopers.zip   Available
TubeMaster ver.1.1 Dieter Caspary 1999 Puzzle A very good puzzle game. Your goal in TubeMaster is to arrange the pipe blocks in the game field so that the dripping water reaches the faucet. Very good and challenging gameplay. The game resolution is 800*600, very uncommon in QBasic world but the very graphic is not so well designed and not much varied. The game features background MIDI music and Sound Blaster sound effects but both of these two are not quite good. Still, this is one of the better QBasic puzzle games. Yes No 6 362 T\tubemaster.zip   Available
Tunnel Striker ver.1.5 INT Software 1998 Action An average 3D vector graphic shooting game. You could call it a target practice game. You play it with mouse and your goal in each level is to destroy a certain number of targets with limited ammo. There are also obstacles you need to avoid. The levels look pretty much the same and the graphic is rather simple but the great in-game music track adds a lot to the play experience. I simply love that track! The gameplay is challenging and quite addictive but repetetive. Flashy menus. Sound Blaster music and sound effects. Yes No 5 360 T\tunnelstriker.zip   Available
Twigz Engine Demo Shattered Realm Productions 2004 Adventure A very nice point & click adventure maker(an tutorial is included in the package). I didn't had time to test it but it seems like a lot of effort was put into it. The extra download contains a small demo made with the maker(quite funny). Yes Yes 6 709 T\TwigzSDK.zip T\Twigz.zip Available
Tyler's Battle Tom Brinton 2003 Action A very poor and very poorly coded action game. You are Tyler Campbell, food genius and in your dreams you need to defend yourself from invading giant donuts. You can shoot stuff on them. Poor graphic, poor code, poor Tyler to donut collision, no challenge value, you name it. Avoid. Yes No 1 72 T\Tyler.zip   Available
Title Developer Year Genre Description Compiled Demo Score Size (KB) Download Extra Download Screenshot
UFO Atack Daniel Nolting 2002 Action An ok coffee break game with simple hi-res graphic and PC Speaker sound effects. You defend the Earth from invading flying saucers. No progress. You play it for the score. The default score is not very difficult to beat. The game is on German but you don't need to know it to play the game. Yes No 4 42 U\ufoatack.zip   Available
Ultimate Super Stack Oren Bartal 2000 Puzzle An enhanced version of Super Stack. Features even better graphic and more game modes. Also features very nice Sound Blaster sound effects. This game is very close to score 10 but the game concept just doesn't do it for me. Still, Ultimate Super Stack is definitely one of the best QBasic games ever made(top 5). Yes No 9 330 U\UltimateSStack.zip   Available
Ultranoid
MW Software 2002 Action Despite the nice looking graphic this is a very poor breakout type of game(Arkanoid clone). The physics are very poor, movement is poorly handled and the keyboard controls not very responsive. Also, there are no powerups! That's like...crazy. Poor PC Speaker sound effects. Yes No 3 152 U\ultranoid.zip   Available
Uno Anton Knafl 1999 Puzzle Some sort of card game but on German. The design is quite nice but since I don't speak German I don't know how much the game is fun to play. Only for people who know German! Yes No 4 116 U\uno.zip   Available
Unofficial Tournament Delta Code 2002 Action A fun shoot-em-up game. You fight against human or computer opponents in one of the 50 one screen arenas by shooting projectiles on them. You can choose one of the 12 characters featuring different weapons and speeds. Very nice graphic and cool gore effects. Unofficial Tournament also supports null-modem cable connection for the second human opponent. Ultimate duel game of this kind. What it really lacks is some sort of story or tournament mode. You play it only round by round. There is no progress of any sort. No sound effects or music. Yes No 6 153 U\UnofficialTour.zip   Available
Uranium 3D Ms Gold 1997 Adventure A poor 3D maze game. The graphic is very unappealing and the movement jerky. The game is playable but boring. Uranium 3D features 4 mazes(levels). No No 3 24 U\Uranium3D.zip   Available
Vector Fire Jack Thomson 1999 Strategy Turn based aim and shoot game like Scorched Earth but in 3D. Well, pseudo 3D. The battle ground is displayed with a side and top view port. You can only play this game against another human opponent. I found aiming a very tedious thing to do. Simply, the game screen is too confusing and not well designed. Simple graphic and no sound. No No 3 38 V\vectorfire.zip   Available
Vector X Dan McFadyen 2001 Action Average 3D shooter. The graphic is wirefame and the 3D engine is very good. For example, you can destroy ground(it shifts!). The game is mouse controlled. Controlling your space craft is quite easy and the movement is fluid. There are 4 levels and they are a bit repetitive but not long. The presentation is also poor. Still, the gameplay is challenging and the 3D engine is worth being checked. You might have problems with this game running too fast on modern PCs. I didn't on mine but I didn't noticed any delay routine in the code. No No 4 235 V\vectorx.zip   Available
VGA Sokoban David Joffe 1997 Puzzle Sokoban clone with poor graphic but contains 90 levels. Tile by tile movement. Yes No 4 62 V\VGAsokoban.zip   Available
Void, The RibbonSoft 1999 Adventure Excellent adventure game with pixel scrolling based movement(Zelda style). Not a typical point & click adventure game though the mouse is used when using objects and few other tasks. The graphic is good but there are many things that could have been done better. During the game night and day exchange. Cool! Many locations and puzzles and a funny story. Good story development. Recommended! Only background MIDI music is supported. Yes No 7 521 V\void.zip   Available
Wandering Hamster Demo   Hamster Republic Productions 2004 RPG Excellent RPG made with the Official Hamster Republic RPG Construction Engine. The gameplay is great and the story is well written and funny. The graphic is very good but ranges from good to excellent.  The excellent graphic prevails but there is room for improvement. Also, there is whole lot of cool cinematics in the game. Since this is a demo it contains roughly three hours of playing time but there is a lot of different content in the demo. You won't be bored. This demo already features more stuff than zillion other QBasic RPGs. The demo features nice background music but no sound effects. Highly recommended! Yes Yes 9 1187 W\WanderingHamsDemo.zip   Available
WetSpot 2 Angelo Mottola 1998 Action Excellent sequel to the excellent WetSpot. It features slightly better graphic, more levels and Sound Blaster sound effects and music. Same excellent gameplay. Supports two players cooperative mode. Recommended! Yes No 8 392 W\wetspot2.zip   Available
WetSpot ver.0.99 Angelo Mottola 1996 Action Excellent action game where you control a crab and kill monsters by pushing bricks on them. Very nice graphic and challenging gameplay. 21 levels. No sound effects or music. Supports two players cooperative mode. A note: this is the last version of the game ever released. No No 6 214 W\wetspot.zip   Available
Wheel of Fun ver.0.1a Daniel Kalna 1996 Puzzle A computer version of Wheel of Fun, the TV game. Very simple and unimpressive game design. Below average graphic, PC Speaker sound effects. No opponents, no progress. A coffee break game. You can add your own puzzles. I don't know why the designer considers this game unfinished. Oh, well. No Yes 3 16 W\wheeloffun.zip   Available
WillyBoy ver.2.00 Folker Fritz 2003 Puzzle A game where you move a bush(!?) through a maze with the goal to reach the exit. The interesting part is that you can't go backwards and there are many obstacles. Challenging(20 levels) game but very static(tile by tile movement, no animation). Level editor is included. Yes No 4 62 W\willyboy20.zip   Available
Worm Wars Jack Thomson 1996 Action Two players only game. Snakes duel game like Pune. You and your opponent move around the screen while leaving a trace. The goal is to survive longer than your opponent. Worms die by hitting the wall or any peace of trace. Despite few interesting features in the gameplay the poor graphic, poor choice of control keys and lack of AI make this game very unappealing. No No 3 4 W\WormWars.zip   Available
WORMS! With Human Heads Ben Piko 1996 Platform A poor platform game with few annoying bugs. The graphic is below average and the design very sloppy. Quite few changes had to be done to make this game playable(I've provided the altered source code compiled). The game is playable and the levels are challenging but the poor look and design of the game prevail. Yes No 2 72 W\WormsWithHH.zip   Available
XENO Engine ver.1 Darren Morris 1998 Action A simple jump around demo of a very cool 3D engine. You control a frog and can jump around a really small peace of 3D terrain. No play value. Just an engine showcase. Yes Yes 4 160 X\xeno3Dengine1.zip   Available
XGMAE ver.1.5 Chris Adams (Lithium) 2001 Action Excellent space shooter with wireframe sprites but brilliant explosion effects. The gameplay is similar to the one in Asteroids. This demo features 9 levels, multiple weapons, powerups and excellent Sound Blaster sound effects. Multiplayer option in the game menu seems to be defunct. I will check for later versions(if any exists). Yes Yes 7 442 X\xgmae.zip   Available
Zantar Enrique A. Compan Gzz. 1997 Puzzle A maze game like Enigma. You need to find a way to exit but a wall will discover only when you bump into it. Boring graphic and poor design(no score displayed, no number of movement displayed). No challenge value since the levels don't have a time limit. The game is only a test of patience. Yes No 3 48 Z\Zantar.zip   Available
Zemmory BattleCraft99 1999 Puzzle A rather poor memory game. It's done in pure QBasic featuring poor graphic(card images are letters of different color). It also features few annoying bugs. One player only game. No No 1 11 Z\Zemmory.zip   Available
ZeroG syn9 / Ex Machina Studios 2003 Driving Wipeout clone. 3D space craft racing game. The 3D engine is very good while the 3D graphic is average. The objects are cool but they don't feature textures, just one color surfaces with shade effect. The graphical design could be better. The game is rather discouraging but playable. No sound effects or music. Yes No 7 139 Z\ZeroG.zip   Available
Ziel Jay Cook 1997 Action Nice action adventure game set in a fantasy-like world. Ziel plays like other Zelda style games but the battles are real time and the gameplay is based on adventure elements. This demo only contains a small quest but can pass for a mini game. Nice graphic, especially the game characters. Minimal Sound Blaster sound effects are featured and they are annoying. Yes Yes 5 128 Z\Ziel.zip   Available
