Title Developer Year Genre Description Compiled Demo Score Size (KB) Download Extra Download Screenshot
Jace Boxxi Jace Masula 2004 Puzzle A nice coffee break game where you remove blocks of the same color that are connecting. The gameplay works but Jace Boxxi simply lacks more content and more complex graphic to get a higher score. Yes No 4 51 J\JaceBox.zip   Available
Jack's 3D Game Edition 2 Dr. Jacques Mallah 2004 Action A mediocre if not less FPS. Levels are themeless(and only 2 of them), the graphic is badly composed while the enemies look boring and very poor. 3D engine is well coded and you can create you own levels and add your own textures. Poor presentation. Nice gameplay. Yes No 4 185 J\Jack3DGameEd2.zip   Available
JDR-Pacman Johan De Ruiter 1999 Action A mediocre pacman game but since it features quite redundant graphic and title by tile movement I can't give it a higher score. It's designed and coded quite well. Playable and relatively addictive game. Yes No 4 65 J\JdRPacman.zip   Available
JDR-Sliders Johan De Ruiter 2000 Puzzle A simple puzzle game where you need to compile a picture by sliding the pieces of the picture. A coffee break game. Yes No 4 238 J\jdrsliders.zip   Available
Jill The Goddess WOPR 2K (Na Than Assh Antti) 2001 Platform Excellent platform game but very difficult. Lot's of jumping and falling into pits. The game features images of nudity. Sound Blaster sound effects and music. Yes No 7 685 J\JillTheGoddess.zip   Available
JKP Banana Bomber Eptodontic Software 2000 Action Bomberman clone but on Italian. It features interesting and nicely done hi-res graphic. Sadly, it runs too fast on modern PCs. The extra download contains the original installation file but I find it unnecessary and it might confuse people who don't speak Italian. Yes No 4 633 J\JKPBBomber.zip J\jkpbbsetup.zip
Johnny Abbot's Sex Adventures I Bulma Produktions 2001 Adventure A pornographic adventure game. It features nice graphic, well compiled with photographs of nude women and Sound Blaster sound effects. I found the gameplay doubtful and a bit annoying but that could just be me. The game is consisted of approaching girls, teasing them to the climax and then penetrating them. I failed to reach that part. Interesting. If you are into that kind of content you'll definitely like this game. Yes No 6 1998 J\JohhnyAbbot1.zip   Available
Johnny Abbot's Sex Adventures II Part 1&2 Bulma Produktions 2000 Adventure Sequel to Johnny Abbot's Sex Adventures I. Also a pornographic adventure game. Actually, this sequel is two games but you can play the second part of the sequel only if you have the end password from the part one. This sequel features more characters and more adventure elements but equally tricky gameplay. I just find the "teasing" part too difficult. Extra download is the part 2 and it's a 2965 KB big file. Yes No 6 2836 J\johnnyabbot21.zip J\johnnyabbot22.zip Available
Jpoker Jace Masula 2004 Puzzle Single player poker game. Ok graphic. Cards look nice and the font is appealing. What this game really should have is documentation or some sort of instructions since the player can't know how much money he or she gets for a certain hand. Also, you can't cancel any action in this game, like reducing the bet if you, by mistake, put too much money in it or recalling the choice of cards you want to discard. Yes No 4 79 J\JPOKER.zip   Available
Jumping Jack Flash Crz Brezovar 1996 Action A poor game but with an interesting concept. You control a guy who needs to reach the top floor. You advance to higher floors by jumping through moving gaps. The game would be playable if the graphic was not so bad and the code horrible. Also, the game runs too fast on modern PCs to the point of being unplayable and is not compiled. It's impossible to know with what speed this game should run. No No 2 6 J\jumpingjackflash.zip   Available
K*M*S Chapter 1 Kimussa & Bulma Produktions 2002 Action A bizarre pornographic game. It's features different game modes, spread through several levels. In some levels you'll need to answer correctly on a given question(s) and make a women cum by having sex with her while in another level you'll be driving a car. You'll be mostly having sex. The game is made in EGA graphic mode but the graphic and animation during sex scenes is brilliant. Unfortunately the quality of the game is very uneven. The sex parts are executed great while the car driving and walking part is lame. This is also a quite sick game featuring images of perversion and shitting(you’ll see more than you want). So a really unique game and for adults only. The story is quite weird. The game features Sound Blaster sound effects. Yes No 6 1213 K\kms1c1.zip   Available
Kamikaze Aliens V Philipp Lenssen (Jester) 1996 Action A very obscure game where you control a tank(top down view) and attack various alien structures on an alien planet. The graphic is hi-res(640*480). Some sprites are good while most are not. The biggest problem is that the graphic is poorly designed and compiled. The controls are awful and the collision is catastrophic. The game is playable and the graphic is relatively interesting so if you are interested in obscure games Kamikaze Aliens V is something you might want to check. Yes No 3 116 K\kamikazea5.zip   Available
Kamikaze Aliens VI Philipp Lenssen (Jester) 1997 Action A very bad space shooter. No menus at all. While the sprites are ok the controls and the gameplay is terrible. I'm also pretty sure that this game has no progress at all. No No 2 8 K\kamikazea6.zip
KaPong Greg Santo 1999 Action Quite poor pong game featuring poor graphic with terrible gameplay and without AI. Decent menus. Yes No 2 43 K\KaPong.zip
Kill Them All Again Nano 1999 Action A solid space action game where your goal is to destroy as many alien ships possible before getting killed. No progress. The graphic is so-so(weird style) and the gameplay ok. The game is mouse controlled. You can choose one of the eight ships available to play with. I recommend you to hold down the F1 key when starting a round to slow the game down. MIDI background music. Yes No 5 326 K\killthemall.zip   Available
King Arthur's Escape MikeWare SoftWorks and RyFriWare 1996 Adventure A terrible text based adventure game. The entire gameplay is based on making a right or wrong choice out of two options. It's short and there is no a save game feature. Terrible game development and terribly written game. I'm not giving it 0 only because I've reserved 0 for unplayable games. No No 1 15 K\kingarthurescape.zip
Kingdom of Lalore II Dark~Terror (Ray Green) 1996 Strategy Some sort of obscure strategy game. You fight against enemy rulers in a fantasy world. Wasn't able to test the game properly since I needed DOSBox to run it and it's not compiled. The graphic is nothing special. Can't say much about the gamepay but the game features a lot of options. No No 4 415 K\kinglalore2.zip
Kingdoms Marcus Kasumba (Piptol) 2001 Strategy A very good strategy game placed in a fantasy world. Build your city, recruit army, invade. I found it tad too difficult. Very nice graphic. The game has few notable bugs. Yes No 6 1202 K\Kindgoms.zip   Available
Konrad The Warrior Acid Works Software 1997 RPG A poor RPG. Tile by tile movement. The graphic is quite poor but not terrible. Shallow story. The overall design is nice and the gameplay is ok. Speed during the battles is way too slow and there are few notable bugs. Only for RPG fans. Yes No 4 398 K\KonradTheWarrior.zip   Available
Lala Prologue Na Than Assh Antti 2002 Adventure A very nice mini-minigame that combines platform and adventure genre. Lala is a wizard apprentice who lives in the forest and has to go every day to her master's house. This game only features two levels and few puzzles but the graphic and the game engine are excellent. Worth being checked. Yes No 5 153 L\lalacom.zip   Available
Lander Mallard 1995 Action Interesting variation on the "lander" concept but a poorly coded game. You need to land your ship on the planet while avoiding other planets(?!) and comets. After you land, walk to the designated area, plant the flag and get back. The game features 5 levels. The problem is in the technical imperfection of the game which makes it very difficult to play(stupid acceleration curve). Yes No 3 87 L\lander.zip   Available
Larry The Dinosaur Delta Code 2000 Platform Not really a platform game but almost like it. You are always on one level and need to jump over obstacles and kill monsters traveling from one screen to the next screen. Relatively interesting and addictive game but sadly too technically imperfect(uneven quality of the graphic, flickering and bugs). Yes No 4 221 L\LarryTheDinosaur.zip   Available
Larry The Dinosaur 2 Delta Code 2002 Platform Excellent platform/adventure game. Great and professoinally done graphic and great gameplay. Switch between weapons, pick up objects, use them, mix them, talk to characters, kill enemies. Tad too short game but still great. Yes No 8 1969 L\LarryTheDinosaur2.zip   Available
Legend of Lith 2  Demo ver.1.0 DarkDread 1996 RPG First person perspective RPG like Eye Of The Beholder or Bard's Tale(not a 3D game!). A rarity in QBasic RPG genre. This is a demo and not my favorite type of gameplay but it's nicely designed. This version has few bugs. No Yes 5 86 L\legendlith2.zip   Available
Lexter 1 Mike Snyder 1993 Puzzle A very nice puzzle game with ok graphic and tile by tile movement. The objective of this game is based on reaching the level exit in set number of moves. The game is quite challenging and fun to play but since this is one of the most earliest QBasic games it can't be compared in technical perfection, graphic and sound support(only PC Speaker sounds included) with better QBasic games released after 1997. Still, both Lexter 1 and 2 are very professionally coded and designed games and are a forgotten part of QBasic game design history. Recommended for collectors. Yes No 4 138 L\lexter1.zip   Available
Lexter 2 Mike Snyder 1993 Puzzle A sequel to Lexter bringing the same gameplay in somewhat better packing, featuring larger number of levels, world map and new objects Lexter can use to solve the puzzles. Very challenging game. The quality of graphic is not improved. Yes No 5 181 L\lexter2.zip   Available
Lianne in... The Dark Crown
DarkDread 1997 RPG An average RPG with nicely shaded graphic but on some places badly composed. Tile by tile movement. A bit weird design. I don't know. Didn't had time to play it long enough to get the full impression. Quite nice presentation and menus. No No 5 63 L\Liannedc1.zip   Available
Light's Out/Light's On Master Minds Software (Species) 2002 Puzzle A puzzle game. A bit buggish and not very interesting. Still, quite challenging. Yes No 3 127 L\LightsOut.zip
Link 5 Murat Elic 2003 Puzzle A variation on the classic link [insert number] concept. This game features nice and calming graphic but you can only play against computer opponent(who is not that good) and the overall design could use more touches. In Link 5 you need to connect 5 of the same symbols(horizontally, vertically or diagonally) which you place on the board and you can also collect points which are randomized on the board with every new game. Yes No 4 108 L\link5.zip   Available
Little Pixy 2, The TMB 2000 Platform A very nice platform game where you play one of the Santa’s little pixies and have to collect all the toys in the level and put them into Santa’s sack. The gameplay is a bit repetitive(9 levels) but addictive and challenging. The graphic is very good(if not excellent) and the game also features Sound Blaster sound effects and music(a bit too chirpy). Yes No 6 339 L\littlepixy2.zip   Available
Lost 2 ver.1.1 Demo Groovy Concepts LTD 1999 Adventure Interesting demo of an adventure game. Most of the game is composed with ASCII characters but some parts of the game, like cutscenes, are not which makes the game graphic design a bit unbalanced. The designer should have stick with the ASCII(text) graphic style. The gameplay is quite good. Characters are funny but not realistic. It all feels too much like a joke. Due the shortness of the demo and unbalanced quality of the graphic I can't give this demo much more. Still, the designer shows a lot of potential. Yes Yes 3 113 L\lost2v11.zip
Lost Realms XFlare Software 1999 Strategy Turn based, two players only strategy game. Good gameplay but the game can only be played on one map and each player always starts from the same position. Ok graphic. No No 4 206 L\LostRealms.zip   Available
Love Story, The Murat Elic 2003 RPG Absolutely horrible RPG made in less that one day. Monsters attack you even if you don't move and constantly which makes it impossible to go anywhere. Also, the designer doesn't know English well so the dialogues are kind of amusing. "I escaped Jenny!". Heh. Avoid. Yes No 1 152 L\lovestory.zip   Available
Lunatix: The Insanity Circle Mike Snyder 1999 Adventure Excellent illustrated text adventure game featuring very cool graphic, challenging puzzles and well designed interface. Yes No 7 818 L\lunatix_TIC.zip   Available
M.R.T. Brian Hogan 1996 Action M.R.T. or Mini Robotic Tanks is an average, top down shooting game with robots. You fight against computer or human opponent with a goal to destroy the opponent or his structures present in the level(static screen; no scrolling). Since the computer AI is terrible M.R.T. mostly comes down to being a two players game. Designer did put some effort to create an interesting gameplay by adding powerups and obstacles in the levels. Also, the graphic is nice. How much the gameplay works I can't tell. Robots can only move in horizontal and vertical direction and the movement is tile by tile based which doesn't leave much space for using tactics. Not really an exciting game. Just don't expect much if you decide to download this game. No No 4 214 M\mrt.zip   Available
MADMIX GAME Enrique Huerta 2000 Action An average pacman game with scrolling featuring EGA graphic but cool gameplay with few features not common in pacman games. Overall, a very nicely designed game(no bugs or amateurish mistakes). No sound effects or music. The package includes a level editor. Yes No 5 204 M\madmix.zip   Available
Man Who Had A Boat, The Lachie Dazdarian 2003 Action Another game made for the one key challenge where you had to create a game controlled with one key. Nice graphic but only 3 short levels and shallow gameplay. If you are looking for a quick and short game you might wanna check this. Yes No 4 90 M\manwhaboat.zip   Available
Mario 2 Mastersoft (Gilberto Lima) 1998 Platform Rather boring and repetitive Super Mario clone but well coded. No enemies, just endless jumping. Needs a slowdown utility. Nice graphic but themeless and incoherent. Yes No 6 225 M\mario2.zip
Mario Upgrade Mastersoft (Gilberto Lima) 1999 Platform This seems to be a better version of Mario 2 but this one is in Portuguese. Not a serious obstacle for playing the game. I've actually finished Mario Upgrade and not Mario 2 so I don't know how much Mario 2 is inferior to Mario Upgrade. There is some difference in graphic and level design. Both games don't feature any music or sound effects. This version also needs a slowdown utility. Yes No 6 226 M\MarioUp.zip   Available
Mars Fighter 2069 ver.1.0   OuterZones Entertainment 2001 Action Top down space shooter(like Raptor) in hi-res(640*480) graphic. At the first glance it seems like something very cool but it's really not. Except for the main ship sprite, the sprites are very poor. Also, they don't feature a transparent background color which makes the game look unprofessional. Mars Fighter gameplay is very poor. There is no challenge value what so ever. Levels all look the same(in space) and only difference between them are larger and slightly tougher groups of enemy ships. It all seems like something packed in a hurry. Main menu, about and story screen and in-game status icons look very cool. Yes No 5 745 M\marsfighter10.zip   Available
Martian Venture Joakim 2002 Platform A cool and smooth platform game but with small amount of different graphic, from tiles to sprites. The very graphic is good but the game lacks diversity. The game engine is excellent. Martian Venture features Sound Blaster sound effects. No music. Yes No 6 201 M\MartianVenture.zip   Available
Master Football 2001 MW Software 2001 Puzzle A weird puzzle game based on the board game called Footballers, unknown to me. The AI is terrible and the whole concept of the game seems doubtful. Yes No 3 43 M\masterf2001.zip   Available
Masteroids Kevin B. Kohler 1998 Action A mediocre space shooter without scrolling(static screen), like Asteroids. You control a ship with a goal to destroy all the asteroids inside the level. The biggest flaw of this game is the graphic. Asteroids are simple circles and your ship is a rotating triangle. Nevertheless, the game is executed quite well. Ship rotation is perfect, controls very good, powerups cool and the gameplay works. Masteroids lacks more content and better presentation. 640*480 graphic resolution. MIDI background music. Yes No 4 118 M\masteroids.zip   Available
Mattress Warrior DarkDread 2002 RPG An average RPG with excellent graphic and music but terribly linear, too easy and featuring a rather small world. Interesting because of the DarkDread's excellent design. Yes No 7 756 M\MattressWarrior.zip   Available
Mayhem Alex Smith 1998 Action Multiplayer(without one player mode) space ship shooting game. You fight against one to three opponent ships with a goal to destroy them and accumulate more kills. The graphic is rather simple and the game physic/controls are not so good. I don't know how much this game is fun to play since I was not able to play it with another person. Yes No 5 69 M\mayhem.zip   Available
Maze Of Misery Steve Morrow 2001 Action Travel through mazes, search for gold and avoid enemies. Done in pure QBasic, without any external graphic. Very technically imperfect and dull. Poor graphic. No No 2 10 M\MazeMisery.zip
Mega Hacker! Julian Yap 1997 Puzzle Nothing but a pure text, number guessing game disguised as a game about hacking. Despite the designers effort to create a plausible game about hacking Mega Hacker! simply doesn't work. It's boring like any other number guessing game. In Mega Hacker! you can "hack" your school, an underground BBS, a bank and FBI headquarters. But to be able to hack anything but the school you'll need to hack the school(guess a number between 1 and 100) 10 or more times. To hack the bank and FBI headquarters even more. Terrible gameplay. Yes No 2 42 M\megahack.zip
Metal Qb Stars Dev 2002 Action Action shooter similar to Chaos Engine(top down view). Sadly, Metal QB is a rather poor game. You run around mostly shooting rats(?!) which is plain dumb and boring. There is only one type of human enemies. The graphic is poorly designed. Not horrible but there is a lot of bad things you could say about it. Very poor level design. There are some cool things like ability to strafe. Yes No 4 540 M\MetalQb.zip   Available
MineFind Folker Fritz 2003 Puzzle A Minesweeper clone. It features very dull graphic. The interesting thing is that you can alter the size of the game field and number of mines(difficulty). Too bad that the designer wasn't interested to create more appealing graphic. Keyboard controlled game which is not usual for a Minesweeper game and for a reason. Yes No 4 47 M\MineFind.zip   Available
Minesweeper for DOS David Joffe 1997 Puzzle Remake of the classic Minesweeper almost identical to the Windows version. Well executed game but nothing more. Yes No 4 71 M\minesweeper.zip   Available
Mini RPG 2 JAWS V soft. 1999 RPG Interesting RPG that embodies the word "mini" in everything. The characters are small looking, the game world is small and there is small number of moves you can do in the battle. The graphic is made in EGA style but it's excellent and the characters are very well animated. Despite it's "mini" concept this is a rather addictive game. The only problem I see with it is that the battles are too slow-paced and the game is too straight-forward. PC Speaker sound effects. No No 6 273 M\minirpg2.zip   Available
Mini RPG 3 JAWS V soft. 1997 RPG A game with the identical concept and design as in Mini RPG 2 but this sequel features even better character animation(it's great) and a bit more interesting(and amusing) story. Sadly, the game world is very small again. Like in Mini RPG 2 this game is all about fighting battles and leveling up. No No 6 365 M\minirpg3.zip   Available
Mini Space Empires Murat Elic 2003 Strategy An average strategy game in space. Build structures on your planet, build ships, colonize new planets or invade enemy planets. The graphic design is very nice. To bad you can't play against human opponents. Also, the game could used menus and documentation. Like this, it looks half done. The gameplay is ok. There is no progress, but for each new game planet positions are randomized. Yes No 5 102 M\minise.zip   Available
MiniRPG1 Boardgame JAWS V soft. 2000 RPG RPG played on a hexagonal map. By using roulette(spinning arrow) the characters move and attack enemies. The battle system is a bit more complex and interesting than in Mini RPG 2&3. The graphic is absolutely excellent while the gameplay is another thing. In this game you compete against 3 other computer controlled characters in a race to capture King’s pet dragon Saurdox. What is annoying is that you have to watch opponents move and fight while the battles are annoyingly slow-paced like in other Mini RPG games. You can speed up the game but then you lose the atmosphere and don't experience the wonderful animations properly. Definitely worth being checked because of the excellent graphic and animations. The game doesn't feature any sound effects or music. Yes No 7 284 M\minirpgboard.zip   Available
Mirkwood - Middle Earth Tale III. Jocke The Beast 2001 RPG A mediocre RPG game. Average graphic. Tile by tile movement. Minimal animation. A big plus is the large amount of dialogues. The world is not designed so well. For example, you get various objects from strangers, scattered around the forest dead ends, for no reason. Battles are textual. Yes No 5 212 M\Mirkwood.zip   Available
Missing In Space ForgedQB 2004 Action A nice space shooter. Alien clone. The gameplay is quite good but Missing In Space offers very little content(only 3 different types of enemy ships). The graphic is ok but I find the style used a bit weird(bright edges). The game runs slightly too fast but it's playable. Missing In Space features a nice side scrolling effect. Yes No 5 113 M\MissingInSpace.zip   Available
Mission In Solar System Lukman Hakim 2003 Action A very poor space shooter. Shallow gameplay and terrible keyboard handler(INKEY$, argh!). It makes the game almost impossible to play. Ok graphic but there is like 3 sprites inside the entire game. One level in which you need to destroy 300 aliens. Yes No 2 39 M\MissionInSolarS.zip
Money Hunt Murat Elic 2003 Action A very poor coffee break game where you collect falling coins with a glass(?!) while avoiding rocks. Very doubtful gameplay. Poor controls. Yes No 2 113 M\moneyhunt.zip
Monkey Blast! focus ZERO 2001 Action Brilliant “aim and shoot” game. In Monkey Blast! you need to protect scattered bananas from hordes of starving monkeys by killing them. The game is mouse controlled. The graphic is very nice but not excellent. What is great are wonderful gore effects(blood and guts everywhere) and amusing Sound Blaster sound effects. After each level you can buy new weapons, grenades or threshers which help you protect the bananas. Absolutely excellent gameplay. If you are looking for a game which is enjoyable and relaxing to play Monkey Blast! is what you need. Yes No 8 817 M\monkeyblast.zip   Available
Mono Space Milo Sedlacek 1997 Action Excellent monochrome space shooter featuring one of the best explosion effects ever to appear in a QBasic game. The graphic, despite being monochrome, is excellent and the code is brilliant. This game is legendary in QBasic circles as it's tragically deceased designer too. The problem with Mono Space it that it's too short, lacks proper design like menus and presentation but because of it's cult status deserves to be remembered and played. No No 6 213 M\MonoSpace.zip   Available
Monster Slayer Noah Daleo 1997 Action Despite the amateurish look of the game, silly story and poor presentation the very gameplay in episode 1, 2, 3(game contains 4 episodes - levels) is quite good. Controls and interaction with enemies is well coded. Solid work for a school project. No No 4 241 M\MonsterSlayer.zip
  Available
Mooncrap '99 Daniel Kupfer 1999 Action Very nice and addictive space shooter. Sadly the graphic is made using QBasic DATA statements so the look of the game is not top notch(more or less). Still, this is replaced with very good code(ship rotation, explosions, cool drawn bosses). A lot of levels and challenging gameplay. Yes No 6 136 M\Mooncrap.zip   Available
MoonCrash Jack Thomson 2001 Action Excellent lunar lander simulator featuring the entire voyage from Earth to moon and back. In MoonCrash you’ll need to take off from Earth, reach the moon, land on it with a lunar module and get back to Earth. Physics and the gameplay are excellent. The game is quite challenging but not discouraging. The graphic is quite simplistic but since the game is so well designed you won't miss anything. With each new game starting position and all the landing positions are randomized so each new game is a new challenge. Yes No 6 46 M\mooncrsh.zip   Available
Mortal Pongbat Van Ossy-S0ftware 1996 Action A terrible pong game which tries to combine Mortal Kombat gameplay with pong. The game is terribly designed, full of bugs, nonexistent challenge and features very poor graphic. Avoid. No No 0 14 M\mortal-pongbat.zip
Mortal Pongbat 2 Van Ossy-S0ftware 1996 Action Mortal Pongbat 2 is almost equally bad at the first part. Very poor coding, very poor graphic, terrible design. Like the first part, it runs too fast on modern PCs. This sequel has few graphic effects, and there are different backgrounds so I'm giving it 1. No No 1 27 M\mortal-pongbat2.zip   Available
Mower Aaron Severn 1998 Action A mowing game. You need to cut all the grass in the level and avoid enemies. Few notable bugs in the game. The graphic is nothing special, levels are dull and repetitive. No sound effects or music. No No 4 37 M\Mower.zip   Available
MOX Demo Vertical Horizons 1999 Action A fun mouse controlled action game. Defend your dot from invading enemies. Very flashy graphic and nice particle effects. At this point I don't know if the full version of MOX ever became freeware. There is no progress in this game. You play it for the score. Yes Yes 5 101 M\mox.zip   Available
MUX Pieslice Productions 2003 Action Great first person shooter with excellent graphic, animation, lighting effects and Sound Blaster sound effects and music. It would get a full 10 if the levels were better designed and textures more varied. Still, MUX is the best FPS ever made in QBasic. Yes No 9 2050 M\MUX.zip
  Available
Mysterious Song DarkDread 2000 RPG A very nice role playing game. It features very nice graphic and background Sound Blaster music. I personally don't like how the tiles blend together in this game and I found the cities/castles too small. Mattress Warrior and In The Nocturne feature slightly better done tilesets but Mysterious Song features a bigger world. This designer is a synonym for quality so you can’t make a mistake by downloading this game. Yes No 7 1857 M\MysteriousSong.zip   Available
Mystic Force Mike Synder 1993 Adventure An ANSI-graphics text adventure game placed in a fantasy world. I wasn't able to get far in this game so I can't evaluate how good it is but I've noticed that the parser is not the best. The room descriptions are very nice. Yes No 4 91 M\mysticforce.zip   Available
Netris ver.1.3 Vertical Horizons 1998 Puzzle A solid tetris clone with ok graphic. The graphic design could be better. Minimal Sound Blaster sound effects.   Yes No 5 65 N\Netris.zip   Available
Nietzsche Special Edition SJ Zero 2004 RPG If there is a Zelda style QBasic RPG you should avoid and which features pixel by pixel scrolling this is the one. Very badly designed graphic(from badly drawn characters to badly composed wall patterns) and terrible gameplay. Very difficult to get anywhere in the beginning of the game. I've killed over 20 monsters and can't get out of the first hall in the game. Very cheap way to increase the play time of a game. No way I'm playing this for 5 hours just so I could get out of the first 30 meters of the game. Also, I'm puzzled with the amounts of damage I inflict on the monsters and vice-versa during battles. Designer did took some trouble with the story but that's not enough. Extra download is the game packed as an installation program. Yes No 4 751 N\NietzscheSE.zip N\nietzsche.exe Available
Ninja Adventures Jesse Acosta 1997 Adventure A rather poor game featuring tile by tile movement and a very small world. You play a ninja in this game and your goal is to find the magic scroll which contains a cure for your master’s illness. You have 1000 moves available to finish your quest. Very shallow gameplay. No battles, no nothing. Just searching. Poor and in part ripped graphic. Yes No 2 74 N\ninjaadventures.zip   Available
Notes Mike Snyder 1993 Puzzle An interesting and challenging game featuring quite unique concept. Your objective in Notes is to drop the passing notes in the proper measure in order to fill it up. A bit complex concept and it takes time to become familiar with it. Ok graphic. Yes No 4 103 N\notes.zip   Available
Numbervold, The ver.1.0 Ryan Szrama 2004 RPG Interesting ASCII RPG made for the QB Express "Text Map Game" challenge where you had to create a text game using only one map(or screen interface). So you can guess that Numbervold is one screen, text RPG. It features a very interesting and original gameplay(numbers on the map determine how much spaces you move). The content of the game is limited but it's a quite addictive game. Yes No 4 86 N\numbervold.zip   Available
Othello Jason Sorensen 1999 Puzzle A computer version of the Othello(or Reversi) board game. Well coded featuring lot of options, sound effects and background music but could really use more polished graphic. Yes No 5 207 O\Othello.zip   Available
Oytkator's Plans WOPR 2K (Na Than Assh Antti) 2000 RPG A nice RPG with very cool cutscenes, something not often seen in QBasic games. Amusing story. It's sort of a mini-game but due the story and the cutscenes it's worth being downloaded. No No 5 334 O\oytkator.zip   Available
P.R.O.G.U.E. 2098 Software 1998 RPG Excellent ASCII graphic(text-based) RPG featuring background music and very good gameplay. I disliked the designers using common graphic for battles, shops and some other things while the rest of the graphic is consisted of ASCII characters. Maybe some people like this kind of mixture but I don't. If you are going to make an ASCII graphic game then stick with that kind of graphic. Other than that a very appealing RPG. MIDI background music. Yes No 6 764 P\progue.zip   Available
Pac-Clone 2 ver.2.0 Nuno Freire 2000 Action An ok pacman clone featuring big levels and scrolling but not full screen. Tile by tile movement and scrolling. In Pac-Clone 2 you are being chased by one ghost through the level. What is interesting is that you can monitor your progress(where are you and the ghost and where are the blobs you need to eat up) on a mini-map. The graphic is ok but I really disliked the fact that the designer used some graphic and fonts which are not his and did not credited it. The game only contains 3 levels each with a different tileset. Pac-Clone 2 is designed very nicely with nice menu and nice fadein/fadeout effects. Excellent game for relaxing. Yes No 4 70 P\Pac-Clone2.zip   Available
Pac-Man Kedjikeen 1996 Action Another pacman clone. It features quite poor graphic(enemies are small squares) but the gameplay is ok. What is really bad about this game is that enemies can pass through the wall(stupid). Otherwise this game would get a higher score. There are couple of amateurish mistakes in the code. No No 3 37 P\pacman.zip
Pacmanoid Richard Eric M. Lope 2001 Action A below average pacman clone featuring ok graphic but very poor graphic design. The biggest flaw of Pacmanoid is that it only features one map for all the levels. Yes No 4 56 P\Pacmanoid.zip   Available
Panic Vicious HUR 1998 Action A very addictive and fun game similar to pacman but in Panic Vicious you need to use jump pods to elevate yourself on the higher levels of the stage. Sadly, the game features quite poor graphic(bizarre and sloppy style) and low technical perfection(no movement animation, jerky movement and flicker). Still, the gameplay overcomes these flaws. Nice Sound Blaster music. Yes No 4 96 P\panicv.zip   Available
Peanut Patrol 2 Demo Nick London 1999 Platform Demo of a sequel to Peanut Patrol. Features beautiful graphic and huge sprites. But it's only a demo(1 level). Yes Yes 5 95 P\PeanutPatrol2Demo.zip   Available
Peanut Patrol ver.0.15 Nick London 1998 Platform Very nice platform game with very good graphic. This game was never finished but this working version is almost good as a finished game(8 levels). Peanut Patrol features very good Sound Blaster music and sound effects. Yes Yes 6 777 P\PeanutPatrol.zip   Available
PebbleDash Lutasarts 2000 Action A poor Boulderdash clone. It features small amount of very poorly designed levels with mediocre graphic. Tile by tile movement. Yes No 2 98 P\PebbleDash.zip   Available
Percussor TMB 2000 Action Excellent top down, vertical scrolling shooter. Excellent graphic and sounds but not so perfect collision and gameplay. Yes No 7 952 P\percussor.zip   Available
PHAT Professional Burglar PHAT Games 2001 Puzzle A very good and challenging puzzle game with Sound Blaster sound effects. Your objective in each level is to help your burglar to pick up all the money bags and reach the end of the level by placing arrows in it. Same concept as in The Great Escape. 50 levels. Sadly, this game lacks a more varied graphic. The very graphic is ok. Yes No 6 526 P\PHATBurglar.zip   Available
Phatman QBlueSoft 1998 Platform A below average platform game that's all about collection coins, jumping over lava and avoiding enemies. The graphic is below average and it's hi-res(640*350). Almost poor and there is very little of it. Tricky game physics(slow acceleration). The game does feature 3 HUGE and very challenging levels. The great thing is that Phatman features a very nice save game option which allows you to save the game on any position. Poor presentation. Only if you are looking for a hard-core, old-style platform game. You might need a slowdown utility with this game. I didn't but I haven’t noticed any delay routine in the source code. Minimal Sound Blaster sound effects(only two in-game sounds). Yes No 4 90 P\phatman.zip   Available
Pickman 2 Dizzy 2001 Action A quite nice pacman clone featuring small sprites and tiles as well as small levels. The graphic is ok. The game is well coded and is challenging. What I didn't like is that some levels have deep dead ends(which is part of the gameplay) and that enemy AI is weird. Just not my kind of pacman game. Yes No 5 134 P\PickmanTwo.zip   Available
Pieces M \ K Production 1995 Puzzle A puzzle game where you need to composed a picture out of mixed up pieces of it(jigsaw). Pictures you need to compose are quite poor and the way you pick pieces is badly done which ruins the gameplay quite a bit. The game is nicely designed with nice menus and options you can use during the composing(save game, load game, show picture, ...). No No 3 30 P\pieces.zip
Pieces 2 M \ K Production 1997 Puzzle Sequel to Pieces featuring better graphic(very nice jigsaw pictures) and background music(not that good). Pieces 2 has all the features of the first part in form of menus and options. The very mechanics of the game are not improved. I still dislike the way you pick pieces. Maybe that's just me. Yes No 4 214 P\pieces2.zip   Available
Pizza Life Thomas Malits 1999 Puzzle Below average pizza baker simulation. The game is consisted of creating one(1) pizza and selling it for 15 days. Minimal number of options. Not enough for a higher score but the game can be fun to play for few rounds. No No 3 13 P\pizza_life.zip   Available
Plague II Demo Adam Szmigin 1999 Platform Demo of an average(at this point) platform game with excellent game physics and gore effects but with poor tiles and sprites. The demo includes 5 levels placed in two scenarios. As far as I know this game was never finished. Yes Yes 5 237 P\plague2.zip   Available
PONG II: Corporate Empire Budfish Software 2001 Action Sequel to PONG: Battle Royal featuring better graphic, progressive tournament, ship(paddle) modification(ability to modify/buy new weapons, shields and engines), better options(option of choosing points to win and kills to win) and slightly better gameplay. Still, the gameplay is not that good. Enemy AI is almost perfect so the only way to beat the opponent is to hope for the flaw/bug in the AI to happen(I’ve noticed it and it happens really rarely) or to kill the opponent which takes a lot of time and is annoying and frustrating. Killing the first opponent was a drag. Can’t image the next opponents. Having in mind the improvements and some nice graphic effects I'm giving Pong II this generous score but don't forget the doubtful gameplay. You have been warned. The game doesn't feature any Sound Blaster sound effects or music. Yes No 5 218 P\PongTwoCE.zip   Available
Pong Mania ver.2.0 M \ K Productions 1996 Action A poor and very shallow pong game despite the flashy menu and ability to play against human or CPU opponent. The game does feature Sound Blaster background music. Poor graphic. No No 3 11 P\pongmania.zip   Available
PONG: Battle Royal Budfish Software 2000 Action A poor pong game with weapons. Despite the fact that in this game you can choose different paddles and shoot two type of weapons at your opponent this game is very poorly designed. The graphic is poor, you play each game until you press ESC(no progress and no way to set the number of points players need to accumulate to win a match), you can only play against computer opponent, the game field is too small(2/3 of the screen), the graphic is flickerish and the gameplay is highly doubtful. Yes No 3 447 P\PONGBattleRoyal.zip
Portal of worlds 2 Daniel Eriksson 2000 Adventure A quite poor if not terrible adventure game. It's first person(seen through the eyes of the player) and on each location you can do 3 or 4 actions(press a number 1 to 4). None of  these actions can kill you or similar nor you can do anything more complex but press the offered numbers. You simply need to visit each location in the game and press all the available numbers in them. The game lacks any challenge at all. The graphic(background images) are nice but the code and design is very amateurish. Yes No 2 235 P\PortalOfWorlds2.zip   Available
Potbelly Penguin PowellCo 1998 Puzzle A below average puzzle game featuring tile by tile movement which decrease the quality of this specific game quite a lot. Your goal in Potbelly Penguin is to take the penguin egg to the igloo and not the get killed in the process. Only three levels! Ok graphic. Ok gameplay. Not quite technically perfect game. Nice menu and intro screen. The package includes a level editor. Yes No 4 200 P\potbellypenguin.zip   Available
Power, The Davey W. Taylor 1999 Puzzle A very good puzzle game featuring nice graphic and amusing Sound Blaster sound effects. This is a conversion of an Amiga game of the same title. I've played another game with a similar concept - Stoneage. Basically, in The Power your character can only slide from wall to wall and your goal is to collect all the hearts present in the level. You can also move specific blocks if they are present in the level in order to reach the hearts. Unfortunately, this game is too easy and too short(10 levels) to get a higher score. Yes No 5 165 P\power.zip   Available
Probe Brian Hogan 1996 Action Excellent action game based on the "lander" concept. In this game you need to take off with your probe and land on any red area inside the level. Each red landing area brings certain amount of points. Ones that give you higher number of points are usually on more tricky places, difficult to reach. The gameplay is very good although it’s a bit difficult to get used to on the game physics in the beginning. The graphic is nice while the graphic design is excellent and looks very advance for those years in the QBasic game design scene. Probe contains 24 enough challenging levels, useful options and a level editor. No No 6 329 P\probe.zip   Available
Title Developer Year Genre Description Compiled Demo Score Size (KB) Download Extra Download Screenshot
PromZone SV Reanimator 2000 Platform Very good platform game with excellent graphic, excellent character animation and average music and sound effects. Very nicely coded game enjoyable to play. No bugs what so ever. The gameplay is very good. The only flaw is, so many times with QBasic games, the shortness of the game. PromZone features only one level and no, it's not a demo. It leaves you hungry for more and you feel disappointed on the end. Neverthless, you won't regret downloading PromZone. Yes No 7 410 P\promzone.zip   Available
Pushem Danny Albocher 1997 Puzzle Another Sokoban clone with very simple graphic, tile by tile movement and unpolished interface. Only 5 levels. No No 3 5 P\pushem.zip   Available
Puz GouldSoft 1999 Puzzle A very good puzzle game where your goal is to get all the numbers on the board in order by roating any peace of the board in any direction. Very well designed and challenging game. Puz features background MIDI music.     6 251 P\puz.zip   Available
Puzzle BWare 1999 Puzzle Excellent puzzle game where your goal is simply to reach the level exit. Similar to Sokoban but not quite. Ok graphic with cool animated main character(blob), background MIDI music and Sound Blaster sound effects. The game is on German but you can manage without knowing German. Yes No 6 605 P\puzzle_german.zip   Available
Q-MANCHE Final Release Dieter Marfurt 2000 Action A helicopter flight simulation. Sorta. While the 3D engine that the game uses is great(I'm not familiar with the method but it's similar if not the same to the one used in Comanche series) this is a rather poor game. All you need to do in Q-MANCHE is to hunt down the three persons on the map and kill them. They are nothing but slug looking lines. While this is a painfully easy game it's also terribly short. The game offers absolutely nothing more. Nevertheless, the 3D engine is something really worth being checked out. Thus the score 5. Yes No 5 679 Q\qmanche.zip   Available
QB Defender Tim Truman 1997 Action A poor but playable side-view space shooter. It features cool Adlib(Sound Blaster compatible) sound effects. The graphic is too simple(triangles and rectangles) and crude. The game lacks a lot of polish. Keyboard control is horrible since the game is meant to be played with a joystick. Who keeps a joystick nowadays? No No 3 24 Q\qbdefend.zip
QB Invaders Tim Truman 1997 Action A very nice Invaders clone but without anything new brought into the original concept. Ok graphic and sound effects. The annoying thing is that you have to change the code in order to change some parameters in the game like difficulty or the graphic set. Annoying and I'm lowering the score because of that. No No 4 20 Q\QBInvaders.zip   Available
QB MATRIX Tim Truman 1996 Puzzle Average remake of the classic Tetris without many new features. Still, the graphic is ok and the game features a nice amount options. No No 5 25 Q\qbmatrix.zip   Available
QB Missle Tim Truman 1997 Action Unfinished put playable aim and shoot game(mouse controlled). Defend your cities against falling nuclear missiles. Addictive and fun. Simple graphic. No Yes 4 13 Q\qbmissle.zip
QB Roids Tim Truman 1996 Action An ok Asteroids remake. I found it boring since there are no powerups and more than two types of obstacles. Also, like in QB Invaders, you can change the game parameters only in the source code. Unimpressive if not poor graphic. No No 4 20 Q\qbroids.zip
QB-Ball Murat Elic 2003 Action A poor Arkanoid clone with highly doubtful gameplay(paddle moves too slow compared to the ball). The graphic is ok but the problem of the gameplay remains. Yes No 2 113 Q\qbball.zip
Qb-Wormy ver.2 Jessac Mathias Baird 2000 Action One of the better QBasic snake/nibbles games. You control a worm and need to eat all the dots on the screen while not hitting the wall or your tail. As you eat your grow. The execution is good but there is no much different content featured in the game. 15 levels and you can start from any of them. This ruins the challenge a bit. The game also features Sound Blaster music and sound effects. Yes No 5 78 Q\qbwormy2.zip   Available
QBasic Gorillas Mircosoft Corporation 1990 Strategy Example QBasic game by Microsoft. Scorched Earth clone. Set your angle and speed to hit the opponent gorilla with a banana. No AI. No No 3 9 Q\QBasicGorillas.zip
QBasic Nibbles Mircosoft Corporation 1990 Action Example QBasic game by Microsoft. Nibbles clone. Poor graphic. Outdated code(you might have problems running the game on today PCs). No No 3 7 Q\QBNibbles.zip
QBasic Tank Commander Matthew River Knight 1999 Action A very poor two player action game where your goal is to blow up the opponent tank. You can play it only against another human opponent, the movement is stupid(only horizontal and vertical direction is possible) and the round plays until one tank is destroyed(takes only one hit). No collision with the objects in the arena, you simply run everything down. No No 1 15 Q\QBTankCommander.zip   Available
QBasic Tetris Dominik Kaspar 1998 Puzzle A very nice Tetris clone with not so colorful graphic but very well designed in all aspects. It features nice menus, instructions and a lot of options. In QBasic Tetris you can choose the speed of the game, complexity of the falling shapes and few more interesting parameters. If you choose to download QBasic Tetris don't expect colorful graphic but a very well executed Tetris game. Yes No 4 68 Q\QBTetris.zip   Available
QMine Ilmari Vacklin 1998 Puzzle Another minesweeper clone. This one features a bit more snappy graphic than in the other QBasic minesweeper games. In QMine you can change the height and width of the grid and number of mines. One of the better QBasic minesweeper clones but I just can't give more than 4 to such a simple game. Yes No 4 55 Q\qmine.zip   Available
Qnoid Robert Tanniru & Scott Vangilder 2002 Action A poor but not terrible Arkanoid clone. Qnoid is made completely in QBasic without any external graphic and in hi-res(640*350). The graphic is boring and the gameplay doubtful since the keyboard control is based on INKEY$ so the paddle moves too clumsy. It is a nicely designed game but simply too technically imperfect and outdated. No No 3 13 Q\Qnoid.zip
Qpacman DessySoft 1997 Action A poor pacman game with poor graphic. It's playable but boring and features doubtful code(game tends to freeze for few seconds). Tile by tile movement. Qpacman has an interesting feature not common in other pacman games, teleport diamonds. Yes No 3 125 Q\qpacman.zip
Quines Dominik Kaspar 1999 Puzzle Another QBasic minesweeper clone. Boring graphic and small amount of options. Worst than MineFind but close to it in quality. Minimal Sound Blaster sound effects. Yes No 4 74 Q\quines.zip   Available
